Pitra Dosha is also known as Pitru Dosh. A person is affected by the Pitra Dosha if there is a conjunction of Rahu and Sun in the ninth house in the native’s natal chart. This house is also known as the house of Father and Pitra. It is a very inauspicious aspect in the Indian astrology.
According to the Brahma Purana, on the eve of Krishna Paksha of Ashwani month, Lord Yamaraj grants freedom to all the souls so that they can accept food and offerings made by their children.
